Alumni Competition

Bay Jammer has literally thousands of alumni who have participated over the past 60 years.  Because this is the 60th anniversary of Bay Jammer and the 10th anniversary of Venturing, all Bay Jammer alumni are invited to attend this year to relive their Bay Jammer experience.  Alumni wishing to visit and simply watch the youth of today participate in all of the events are more than welcome to do so.  Some alumni might also wish to actually compete in some of the various competitions Bay Jammer has to offer (based on availability). For those wishing to compete and participate in our dances and dinner, you are welcome to do so if you register in advance.  The cost of alumni participation/meal will be a mere $10.00 per person.  Please note that unit leaders who are also alumni must pay the full registration fee, unless the unit they are supervising already has at least two (2) deep leadership.  Alumni are those over the age of 18 for Boy and Girl Scouts arend are 21 and over for Crews, Posts, and Ships.

Venturing Celebrates 10th Anniversary

The Venturing program was officially created by the Boy Scouts of America on February 9, 1998.  That makes this year the 10th anniversary of Venturing in America.  Plans are currently being made to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Venturing at this year's Bay Jammer. We hope to see you at Bay Jammer this coming July.

Bay Jammer to Feature Artifacts from the Past in 2008

With any historic event such as Bay Jammer, there is much memorabilia associated.  To help celebrate the 60th anniversary of this great event, participants are welcome to bring and display any Scouting artifacts they might have as they pertain to Bay Jammer.  Participants are also welcome to bring Scouting items for trade if desired.  A separate area located within the Bay Jammer headquarters will be designated for such displays.  Space will be on a first come, first served basis, so please contact our event chairpersons NO LATER than July 11, 2008.  Our chairpersons can be reached by calling (920) 596-2799 or via email at sgromala@manawa.k12.wi.us.  All items should be labeled and Bay Jammer will not be responsible for stolen items.  We look forward to viewing all of the Bay Jammer artifacts that have been accumulated over the past 60 years.

City of Menominee Declares July 18-20 as "Bay Jammer Days"

For the first time in Bay Jammer's 60 year history, the host city of Bay Jammer has decared Bay Jammer weekend as "Bay Jammer Days".  This is exciting news for everyone associated with this historic event.

Calling Bay-Lakes Council Units

If your unit has never participated in Bay Jammer before, we really want you to consider attending for the first time this July.  All Bay-Lakes Council units attending Bay Jammer for the first time will receive a 10% discount (see registration information in the Program Guide).  All new units, whether from the Bay-Lakes Council or not, will also receive 10 bonus points for attending.  The Executive Committee hopes that this will help encourage some new units to consider attending Bay Jammer on its 60th anniversary and on the 10th anniversary of Venturing.

Ring Buoy Toss is Back

The Ring Buoy Toss event is back for the 60th anniversary edition of Bay Jammer.  See the Program Guide for more details.

LipJam Theme Selected

The theme for LipJam 2008 has been selected and will be "Celebrate America" in honor of all U.S. military men and women, and the upcoming presidential election.

Sand Sculpting Has Theme This Year

For the first time, the Sand Sculpting has an official theme this year.  This year's theme is as follows:  Design a sculpture to depict your favorite presidential candidate for U.S. President or favorite U.S. President.  This should certainly add some fun to this oldie but goodie.

T-Shirt Competition Back Again

We are once again encouraging units to come up with their very own Bay Jammer t-shirt to wear throughout the weekend.  The shirts that are deemed the most creative will be awarded a prize.  Units wishing to participate will be required to submit a t-shirt for entry in the competition at registration on Friday.  Judging will be conducted by members of the Bay Jammer Event Staff.  The theme for the t-shirt competition will be "60 Years of Bay Jammer Fun".
